About The “Supporting our troops” campaign was established through discussion with some staff and students from Stamford Endowed Schools in Lincolnshire. Many of the school’s students have historically come from a Forces background (principally RAF) and the school has one of the largest voluntary Combined Cadet Forces in the Country.
Picture: The Stamford Endowed Schools CCF 2006 There is a long standing tradition of charity work within the Endowed Schools and students from Browne House (a boy’s senior boarding house) select a charity to fund raise for on a termly basis. With many Old Stamfordians serving in the military, they decided to adopt a forces based charity. However, they also wanted to adopt a wider brief than purely raising money, they felt it to be very important during the initial planning, to bring in a strong value of unity and strength through support and recognition of our armed forces daily demands. The other key strand, no political baggage or discussion, just simply 100% positive support for our brave men and women! To break from previous fundraising events, it was decided to produce wristbands with the words “Proud to support our troops” to be produced and distributed as widely as possible. Please wear our band with pride and spread the word!
